One of the most visited cities in Maryland is the stunning Ocean City, located on a peninsula on the state’s coastline. In Ocean City there is both sun, swimming, outdoor activities and shopping. Here, history is ever-present, and with the many important and powerful buildings found in the city, there is something to discover around every corner.
Among other things, the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, the United States Capitol are some of the most visited sights in the capital, but there are also several interesting museums, such as the Smithsonian, which includes several different types of museums.
If you want to experience the wings of history, a visit to Fort McHenry in Baltimore is a must. Fort Henry defended both the state and the United States on numerous occasions, including from the British Army. It was here that the basis of the US national anthem was written, and many important battles have taken place at Fort McHenry.
The fortress was built in the 18th century, and is shaped like a star.
