Meaning of Ascendant

Ascendant

The concept of ascendant can be used as an adjective or as a noun. In the first case, the term qualifies the one or the one who ascends (that is, who rises or rises). For example: “You must bear in mind that cars moving upwards have priority of passage”, “The rising Spanish team will face the Italian team in the round of 16 of the continental tournament”, “If this tennis player maintains the upline, soon it will be number one in the world ”.

The idea of ascendant may refer to something physical or a symbolic question, depending on the case. Let us suppose that a young man who travels by bicycle begins to travel along a path that will leave him on top of a hill. The rider in question can be said to be moving upwards. When going down the hill, on the contrary, it will go down.

It is important to note a fundamental difference between this term and promotion: although both belong to the same family, the idea of ascendant indicates a ” tendency to ascend”, regardless of the point at which the displacement stops, since that it does not affect this trend; an ascent, on the other hand, does have a beginning and an end.

This nuance may not be very relevant, but it is necessary to understand certain principles of mathematics and physics, where there are often two or more points of view to analyze the universe. For example, the concept of line is often confused with that of segment, since people outside these sciences do not take into account the infinite nature of the line; spinning this with what was expressed in the previous paragraph, if we say that a line marks an ascending path, then we must think that its inclination has an infinite extension, even though we can only appreciate a section of it.

For physics, the concept of free fall is defined as the movement that a body performs when the force of gravity acts exclusively on it. In other words, although it seems to be a “downward” movement at first glance, in reality it can also have the opposite direction, and this gives rise to the idea of up and down movement. In more technical terms, the body moves along the vertical axis, which by convention known as Y.

The study of the ascending and descending movement of a body excludes by definition the influence of all force except the gravitational one; However, when this phenomenon is observed in the middle of a fluid such as air, it is necessary to take into account, for example, the consequences of aerodynamic drag. On the other hand, it is also essential to know the variations that the acceleration of gravity undergoes in each point of the planet; broadly speaking, we can say that the higher the altitude, so will the acceleration.

The coach of a team of basketball (basketball), meanwhile, can say that the group coached is in a dynamic upward. In this case, the notion is symbolic: the players do not climb steps or climb mountains, but rather evidence an increasingly high level of play.

In astrology, an important angle of the birth chart is called an ascendant. The ascendant is found in the First House and is opposite to the Seventh House: this feature makes the angle linked to the sign of aries.

The cusp of the ascendant cuts off the sign found on the East Horizon when birth occurs. Upon rising, he divides the sky into the twelve astrological houses that correspond to the twelve signs.
